Cactus Shoes!
Came across these shots of cactus shoes. These could really cause painful toes if you weren't careful!

Snow and Salt on My Shoes and Boots!
Ok - so you'd think I'd be used to it by now; after all I grew up in New England. I've survived many winter storms and all kinds of seasonal slush as it melts and re-freezes, but every year I get so frustrated and annoyed as I look at my shoes and boots and see the snow and salt marks all over them. I try to minimize it by wearing boots to the car and changing into my fabulous footwear once I'm all warm and snuggly with the heater running. Unfortunately, I forget that the snow melts off my boots, onto the car floor, creating swimming pools for my stilettos!
Anyway - just a quick reminder for those of you, like me, who are suffering the salt battle. A cup of warm water and a tablespoon of white vinegar should help wash those sad salt stains away... at least until the next time.

A little background on how the site came about..
As I've said in other places on this blog, I'm a shoe addict - at one point my shoe obsession led to over 300 pairs of shoes in my closet (ok some were in the attic, which is really a giant closet in my house). I sold some and donated several boxes to Soles4Souls. At this point I am down to a very reasonable and realistic number in the low 100's.
But I have a problem. I have SSS Syndrome also known as Shopper Sharp Shiny Syndrome. I start out with the best of intentions on a site (or in a store) to get my beloved shoes; my saved budget earmarked for them and my self-control on high. Then the glint of antiqued rose gold hardware catches my eye... and the next thing you know I'm debating about a Balenciaga Bois De Rose bag! This happens to me whether I am buying or selling - I'm easily distracted!
I wanted a place to buy, sell and trade shoes, where I focus on shoes and NOT end up buying a new Iphone or that juicer for my diet instead of shoes. So I started If The Shoe Doesn't Fit, the auction site for shoe lovers. It's just shoes and shoe accessories. I've tried to create a place I'd like to sell and shop and that I think you will as well- but I'm always open to feedback - so drop me a note with comments.
Whether you want to sell one pair, or one thousand pairs, please stop by the site and check it out - everyone is welcome!

Slippers and Sleepers
So how obsessed am I if i match my slippers to my PJs? It's not like I have to have designer slippers, but I do have several pair, in different colors, styles, materials, etc. And I find that I wear them all and change which ones I wear based on which bedroom attire or bathrobe I have on. For example, I tend to wear my baby blue scuffs with my satin or slinky nighties, and I have a pair of pink scuffs that match a baby doll and wrap. My beige booties (sometimes referred to as band-aid beige cuz that's exactly the color) find their way onto my feet more often than not when I am in my sweats. And on those cold stormy days when I want hot cocoa and I can be found in my flannel PJs (printed with high heels of course) my feet sink into my sheepskin mocs. Somehow they all seem to "go" together and it just seems right - even though these are not outfits anyone (except my golden retrievers) is likely to see. Ah well, no time to write much more now - there's a storm coming in tonight, I need to go find my flanels and mocs!
